Personal Statement
I have been playing soccer for thirteen years and am the person I am today because of the sport. My mom was a college soccer athlete and is currently my high school soccer coach. She has been my inspiration and is one of the reasons I love the sport so much. I have learned many things throughout my years of playing soccer and I think one of the most important things is leadership skills. Both on and off the field I aspire to be a leader. I am the captain of my high school team and strive to lead my team to victories, work hard at every practice, and come together as a unified team. My sophomore year of high school I tore my ACL and was unable to play, but through that obstacle I became a better player. I gained an even stronger love for the game during my time out of the lineup. Now, I work even harder and use every moment to better myself and my game. My increased determination and drive was a huge result of my injury. I strive to be the best I can be both athletically and academically. I plan to continue improving academically the remainder of my high school career as well as through out college. I plan to go on to get my doctorate in physical therapy and I know it will take the same dedication and determination I have on the field. Overall, I am a strong player who aspires to lead my team. I work very hard and am always looking for ways to improve my skills and game play. I believe I bring many good qualities to a team both skill wise and character wise.
