During my college career, I plan to work hard to improve my personal swim performance while becoming an integral member of the Team. I will always put in my best effort in during practice and competition. I believe in doing my best in both my academics and swim performance; balancing both is an important life skill.
I would be an excellent member of the team because I am competitive when racing but don’t let it defeat me when I lose. I celebrate my own and other’s successes as well.
During the summer I work as a swim coach for my local recreational team. I work with swimmers from the ages of 8 to 18 and spend time working with them to improve their skills. I push them to do their best and teach them the importance of good sportsmanship; I teach them this by example as I also compete on the team along side them.
I enjoy my work coaching the team, and it has taught me that although swimming is an individual competition, the support of your team inspires you to push yourself father than you thought you could go.
Swimming in college has been an aspiration of mine since I began swimming competitively in 2017. I look forward to working with my future coaches and teammates towards the success of the team.
