Ever since I swam at my first competitive meet, I knew that swimming was something that would become part of my life and a piece of me. I am a very competitive swimmer and swimming at the collegiate level is something that I know I want to do. It has taught me to become a better person, student, and athlete.
The things I have learned from swimming go beyond the mechanics of each stroke. It has taught me so many things that have helped me become the person I am today, such as discipline, time management, and perseverance.
In addition, having grown up at the pool, I have formed many great friendships with my teammates and have been trained by some great coaches I consider to be lasting role models.
By always pushing myself to succeed in the pool, I believe I have been successful in achieving the times and skills to swim at the college level. I have applied these same skills in the classroom, by becoming a leader among my peers, maintaining a high GPA and being a part of clubs such as the Spanish National Honors Society and student government.
I would like to attend a college where I can continue to be challenged in both the pool and the classroom. I am open to all options and can’t wait to find the right college match for me.
