Swimming from the very beginning has been a struggle, with each highpoint comes a low to accompany it. Through the years, I’ve learned that at the end of the day it doesn’t matter how many medals you have, but how hard you’re willing to work to earn those medals. My freshman year was the hardest, forcing myself through classes and seemingly falling flat in swimming pushed me to refocusing my efforts and energy academically and athletically. This refocusing and effort helped push me to achieve more and become the swimmer not only capable but dreaming of competing on a college level.
I’ve been in a few different programs over the years, each one pushing the same main points. I have internalized the value of hard work, dedication, teamwork, and commitment. I’m searching for a program that challenges me in and out of the pool, pushing me into being both a better student and athlete, as well as offers to help me expand my horizons. I aspire to not only compete on a college team but to also make a strong mark on the program I’m with.
