Personal Statement
Although my education comes first, I love to swim. I am very dedicated to succeeding in both.
For as long as I remember I have loved being in the water. My parents took me to my first water babies class when I was three months old and they say that since than I have spent more time under the water than above. I love swimming because it is both an individual event where I am chasing my own times and it is also being part of a team, sharing the same goals, and supporting and cheering each other. My swim friends have become my swim family. Loving the water as much as I do. The best feeling in the world is achieving a goal that I worked hard to reach. I am so excited to see what is ahead of me and enjoy every moment of moving forward. When I lived in North Carolina I also competed in a QuaranTEAM Dryland Challenge which is where swimmers around the state timed themselves completing multiple exercises like 20 burpees and 30 sit-ups. I place 9th in my 13-14 age group on week 4.
When I lived in North Carolina I volunteered for Mama's House which is a charity which gives clothes, food, toys and more to families in need. We moved to Minnesota last September and during this summer I volunteered as an assistant swim instructor for the YMCA and also helped with concessions for my swim team.
I want to attend college and study Criminology so I can pursue a career in Law Enforcement.
