I started swimming at the age of seven on a local club team in Londonderry called the RAYS (Rockingham Area Youth Swim Team). When I was 11, my coaches and I decided the RAYS weren’t the best fit for me anymore. They mostly faded as a team and I was still maturing as a competitive swimmer. As a result of that, I joined Executive Swim Club in Manchester and to this day, I believe that was the best decision I have ever made. This would be my fourth year on Executive, but it feels like my tenth. I improved drastically when I moved teams and I still am. Coach Brian has helped me reach these goals that I have set for myself, and I couldn’t be more grateful. My team is extremely supportive of one another and to see them succeed is even more rewarding. I love getting to see the individual and team aspects of the sport work together. I am overall a hard-working, persevering person both in school and in the pool. I believe the work you put in will show itself. In the future for college swimming, I look for a similar team dynamic and admirable coaches that will allow more improvements.
