Personal Statement
I started swimming competitively at the age of seven. Right away, I knew this was the sport for me. I started going to every practice, swimming every meet, and trying all the different events. Over the years with a lot of hard work, I started getting faster and becoming a more competitive opponent. I ended up switching club teams, which was tough to leave my first coach, but it opened new opportunities. I started going to bigger meets, getting more exposure to higher levels of competition, pushing myself to faster times, and seeing results. Being a swimmer, I've learned that no times come easy, I have to work so hard for everything I want. I'm different from other swimmers because I realize the importance of reflection. I set stretch goals for myself and I reflect on my successes and shortcomings, so that I can only get better each time I hear the buzzer.
Academics is another area of my life where I can set goals, improve, and grow myself. I am taking AP Statistics, AP Spanish and AP Literature and Composition. I'm ready for this challenge and can't wait to see what opportunities these classes and knowledge open up for me. Throughout high school I hope to continue on the enriched path with those content areas. As for college, my hope is to study International Business and Spanish.

- AwardsI have maintained a GPA of above 95% throughout high school so far- High Honor Roll with Distinction. I am a part of the National Honor Society and Foreign Language National Honor Society. I received the Business, History and Math Scholar Award for my Junior Class.
- ActivitiesI am in the Bus Buddies program where I greet a student with special needs off of the bus, and start their day by having breakfast with them. I am also apart of C.A.R.E Club where we do kind things for our community. This past month we have been making cards and sending them to nursing homes because the people there can't have visitors. I am the student liaison to the PTSA. I am the voice of the students during the PTSA meetings. I started a Pet Food Pantry at my school. I am a LINK Leader.
