Personal Statement
I honestly have not been swimming that long. I started swimming at age 11. It was something my parents made me do. At the time, I was not in love with the sport. I was a gymnast and had been since the age of 3. I basically just swam the bare minimum to keep my parents happy. Whenever there was a conflict between gymnastics and swim, gymnastics always won. This meant only making swim practice a few times a week. That all changed in March of 2021.
In March of 2021 I qualified for the ISCA East Elite Showcase Classic swim meet and my priorities and feelings for the sport changed. I started swimming 5 to 6 days a week and started seeing big cuts in my times. In 2021, I also obtained my first AAA time and Sectional time in the 100 Back. I now love this sport more than ever and am excited to see where it takes me. My goal is to ultimately swim for a D1 school and become a radiologist.
I also do track and gymnastics. I have competed varsity and lettered in both track and gymnastics every year since 8th grade.
In addition to pool and gymnastics workouts, I also currently train with two different dryland trainers, one for swim and one for track.
