Masen Thompson '21 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Masen and I have had a passion for baseball ever since I could walk. I am from Mitchell, South Dakota. It is a small Midwestern town, but I am not going to let that stop me from fulfilling my dreams of playing college ball or, hopefully, at the professional level.

Besides baseball, I enjoy working on cars and spending time hunting and fishing outdoors. Whether it’s fixing a transmission or tracking a deer, I am a very hard worker that will not stop what I am doing until the task is completed.

I really enjoy the feeling of competing on the diamond, especially on the mound. My primary positions are pitcher and outfielder, but I also rotate in on first base and as catcher. In my baseball career, I have played every position. I am a sophomore in high school. I pitch, field, and bat left-handed, but I’ve worked on switch hitting. As a batter, I have an excellent eye . My on-base percentage is 0.900, and I am typically in the top batting position.
