Personal Statement
My name is Kaitlyn Little. I am 16 years old and have been swimming for the past 13 years of my life. Swimming has always had a huge place in my heart. When I was younger, I played every sport out there including cheer, dance, basketball, soccer, and even t-ball. Eventhough I loved eveything I did, my heart was in swimming. I've participated in my high school's Varsity swimming program for the last 2 years. Here I have acccomplished more things than I ever thought possible. I have been pushed far past my comfort zone, learned how to be a leader, and also to never give up on dreams. Cinco Ranch Varsity Girls had been District Champions for a decade when I came in my freshman year. Unfortunately, my freshman year we got second place at Districts. This past year, we regained the title of District Champions. Individually, I am a 2nd year letterman, All-District, All-Region, All-State Relay, and All-American Relay. This past year, I made it to Regional Finals in my 100 Butterfly. I also had the privlage of being on the 200 Medley Relay swimming fly. We got 1st place at Districts, 3rd Place at Regionals, and advanced to State taking 6th place. Overal, the Cinco Ranch Girls Team took home 13th place at state this year. My dream is to swim in college. I want to swim in college because swimming has been apart of my life for so long and I don't want that to stop after high school. I would like to get a degree in nursing to eventually be an OBGYN nurse or Midwife. I want to be a nurse because I love babies and helping others. I know it has been said that nursing and swimming are hard to do but, I plan to be able to manage my school work and swimming to accomplish two important goals in my life.
