I discovered swimming at the age of three. A few years in, I began swimming as a way to strengthen my lungs; as asthma was a condition of a premature birth. Joining a swim team helped me to discover an excitement I wouldn't have through any other experience; I love the energy, the chance to be with a team, the chance to continue to improve and push myself to new levels. Competing on the high school level gave me the opportunity to be part of a "swim family". We are there to push. each other to improve and build each other up when things do not go our way. It is this family that gave me the opportunity to be a part of two record setting relay teams and to take a 6th place medal in the 200Y freestyle and a 4th place medal in the 500Y freestyle at the 2020 3A Utah State Championships. I am committed to working hard this year and at the collegiate level to better myself and the team I have the privilege to be a part of.
In college, my goal is to be in an atmosphere surrounded by hard-working, positive people that are pursuing academic excellence, as well as excellence in the pool. My academic goal is to complete a business degree with a focus in the fashion industry, I feel that exposure to many new people, places and experiences will be beneficial to obtaining this goal. I look forward to communicating with you about opportunities in and out of the pool at your school.
