Hi, my name is Alisha Allen. I've played sports for as long as I can remember. I started playing soccer when I was in first grade and have played ever since. My freshman year of high school I decided to try track for the first time. Track since then has been my main sport. I am a multi-sport girl. I play soccer, I run track, and I am a varsity cheerleader. One of my main goals has always been to go to college. I've always wanted to be picked up by a college, either for track or cheer-leading. I'd love to make my family proud by being the first person in our family to go to college for a sport. Besides going to college for sports, I'd love to be a nurse. I love helping people in anyway I can.
I believe I would be a good candidate for your team because I push my self past what I believe are my limits, I train at least 6 days a week. Instead of saying "I can't do it" I write my goals on a white board and one by one accomplish them all, by believing in myself and working hard at the thing I love the most. I am VERY easy to get along with. I help others achieve their goals by helping them push their way through.
I wouldn't say I'm that different from any other person looking for a chance to go play sports. Everyone of us filling out this personal statement is trying to think of something different about ourselves. And yes, we all have different methods, techniques, and workout plans. But in all reality, what makes me different is my strength, kindness, and fearlessness. I'm a extrovert. I put myself and my thoughts out there even when people don't like it. I'm not afraid to take action for what has to be done. In athletics, I would say I'm at a disadvantage. Usually people doubt me because of my size. Which usually makes me feel like I have a burden. Its taken awhile to get over this, but whenever I feel like I am being doubted I push myself making myself stronger and more fearless. I don't push myself to prove others wrong, I push to prove myself wrong. Academic wise, I would say I'm pretty darn good. I've always procrastinated homework, always wanting to get it done later. Realizing this set my back, I work on studying for every test, always going over every little detail, and then being able to help others when and if needed.
