2019 SpotlightHello,
My name is Lynette Ruiz. I have always been one to push myself beyond my limits and give 110% in everything I do no matter the circumstances. Once I set a goal for me to achieve, I won’t let go of it until I achieve it. Not only am I motivated athletically but academically as well.
As a young child, I have always dreamed of being a pediatrician. Due to those dreams, I plan on attending a college with an excellent nursing program to further my desires to become a pediatrician.
Ever since I could walk, I have been a child of sports. I played competitive club soccer for most of my life until I discovered the sport I am so passionate for now, running. My Sophomore year, I decided to try Cross Country and Track to keep me in shape for soccer but I soon came to have a stronger desire to run than play soccer.
I fell in love with the sport everyone feared. I love the way I feel when I accomplish something I never would have imagined myself being able to do. Even with all of the chaos going on in our world right now, running makes it all go away in my eyes for that time I am running. Without running, I wouldn’t be my true self and I wouldn’t feel complete.
My senior year of cross country has been canceled but I am looking forward for my distance track season to start up again.
