The summer of 2013 I was entering my junior year. I had played volleyball my freshman and sophomore year, sophomore year I had played on the varsity team. Unfortunately, the coaching staff changed upon from the transition from the 2012 season to the 2013 season. The coaching philosophy was changed and height was a big factor and as seen in my stats I'm only 5"2, the coach told me I was not tall enough for the position of middle hitter. She did not give me the chance to learn a new position, that was the first time someone had given up on my athletic ability. This effected me greatly, I had the chance to just sulk and give up because of that event. Instead I joined the cross country something I had never done before. By the end of the season I was the top runner for our girl's team and placed 23 at the State meet. Through these events I had gotten in touch with who I truly was. I am a fighter and if I am knocked down I get up stronger than I was before. To further my athletic ability to the next level would be my upmost honor.
My most recent accomplishment is winning the 2014 3A Girls Cross Country Team State Championship with my teammates! We were ranked 5th and upset the two time state champions.
