My dad got me into running when i was around 13, it began as a father daughter activity and we ran in road races together. Once i started high school i knew i would join track because of my love for running and after the first season i started to aspire to run at the collegiate level. I started out as a sprinter but begged my coach to let me prove to him that i am better at long distance and after that first long distance meet my coach knew that the 800m and the 1600m was my calling. I understand that running at the collegiate level is a huge undertaking and that its a once in a lifetime oppurtunity that I would love to have the opportunity to experience.
I am a very strong believer in working just as hard in practice as you would in a meet. I train all year round and set very high goals for myself in order for my time to continuously drop. I am a very coachable person and take what my coach says and try to make sure that whatever needs to be done is done. I am also a very hard working and driven person and strive to be one of the hardest working recruits you will find.
I work just as hard in the classroom as i do on the track. I love to learn and always keep a busy class schedule filled with many honors and advanced classes. I have maintained a very high GPA all years of high school and have also remained in the honor roll. I take pride in my hard work and want it to be something i am always proud of. Aside from school i also love to volunteer. I volunteer at a food shelter as well as in a children's hospital.
I am looking forward to attending a school where i can push myself academically as well as athletically. I am open to all options and am hoping to find a perfect college match at the highest level of competition possible.
