I went out for the indoor track team my freshman year after having played basketball since I was very young. The team and individual aspects of track really drew me in. It’s exciting to be part of a team while still pushing myself to reach personal goals. Some goals I have set for myself this senior year include running a 1:33 in the 600m and a 43.5 in the 300h. I know I need a strong workout plan to reach these goals, but continuing to increase the number of miles I run per week, stretching every day, and practicing drills like A-skip, B-skip, and hurdles will help me obtain them.
My proudest moments aren’t about winning big races or championships, but when teammates call me a good leader for my work ethic and dedication. I’m excited to join a college team where everyone shares the same excitement to challenge one another everyday.
