Discus throw drillsMy name is Garryn Brajae Scott, affectionately known as "G", a 17-year-old student athlete hailing from the Island of Nassau, Bahamas.
My desire to become a collegiate athlete is from an aspiration to continuously push myself well beyond my current achievements in the sport of discus and shot put throws.
My current goal is to throw 40 meters in discus and 13 meters in shot by the end of my final high school track season. I am currently at 33 meters and 10.23 meters respectively. I will continue to put in the work necessary to achieve these goals.
By the end of my first year in college I would like to have hit 46 meters in discus and 14 meter in shot. Though it can be very frustrating when I am unable to perform to my standard, I am not easily discouraged. There is always a second chance to throw farther and do better. My perseverance is one of the best qualities which has allowed me to secure The National High School gold medal in discus in 2019.
The self drive, consistency and initiative I possess allows me to work free of over guidance. Taking it upon myself to ensure my academics as well as athletics is constantly in balance demonstrates a level of maturity that I am certain will carry me throughout my collegiate life.
My love for the sport of throwing drives to improve my technique daily enabling me to achieve personal records in almost every meet this season in at least one of my events.
Compassion for the fellow man is my best attribute and makes me a person whom can get along with most people and my quiet and humorous character leaves a positive impression on friends and teammates alike.
