Robyn Burrows 100...I began participating in track and field since I was in grade 4 in primary school. At that time, I suddenly started to become faster than my peers. I was asked to run in the National Primary School Championships for my team in that year. This really opened my eyes to a new world, which I never thought would take me so far. In the 5th grade, I became a member of Fast Forward Track and Field Club. Track and field has helped me to learn so much about myself and develop skills I lacked. It has made me learn how to be committed to training to improve my skills. It has helped me to develop great teamwork skills and good sportsmanship. It has also pushed me to work hard and learn how to manage my time to succeed academically and athletically. My high school goal is to graduate with a cumulative G.P.A of 3.5 and above and college the same. In track and field, I plan to ensure that I run the standards necessary to gain a full scholarship. My goal for college is to discover my true passion. To get where I am today, I had to overcome obstacles. At times I found myself doubting if track was right for me. Despite my fears every school year to present I represented the school’s track and field team in Nationals and received gold, silver and bronze medals. Every year I continued to train and push through my challenges, doing my best always. I possess skills in craft, dance, swimming, working well with children and great leadership abilities. I consider myself as being well rounded, focused, respectful and reliable. Being a part of any track team in a university or college would be an honor.
