My name is Katelyn Schultz and I am a junior at Ramstein American High School, Germany. I started my track career in Alabama, where I competed for three years. There I hold three school records, two relays and one individual (800m). I qualified for the state meet in four events as a freshman: the 1600m, 4x400, 800m, and the4x800m. In Europe, I was honorably placed on the All-Europe first team for both cross country and track my sophomore year and was the 2015 3200m European Champion. I strive to improve my times and become a better runner. My determination as an athlete transfers into my academics. I have maintained a 3.5+ GPA and have received several academic honors. I also continue to challenge myself by taking AP classes. I participate in various organizations throughout my school, as well. These include the National Honor Society, French Honor Society, Student to Student, and Student Council. I have leadership experience as a Student to Student secretary, Junior class treasurer, and a track captain. As a captain, I do my best to be a positive influence and to help the other runners, whether it is giving advice or helping them through injuries. I am a firm believer in sportsmanship, and you will always find me cheering my teammates on. I plan on majoring in biology and ultimately become a surgeon. I have always been fascinated with the human body and how it works, as well as helping others as much as I possibly can.
