Personal Statement
I have been running since middle school and have recently decided that I would like to run in college. I realize that participating in collegiate sports is a once in a lifetime opportunity that will require hard work and determination.
I train hard year-round including personal speed and agility training in the off-season. In my junior year of high school, I decided to try cross country for the first time to stay engaged, continue my training and spend more time with my track friends. I surprisingly enjoyed it and am excited about my success as a newcomer.
I would encourage you to check out my 2018 Outdoor Season stats. I don't often run open events so you'll see my split times are more in line with where I am currently running.
I am a hard worker, a team leader and lead by example in practice and in competition. I am very coachable and apply instruction and corrections given by all of my coaches and upper-classmen.
In the classroom, I work hard and study hard and maintain a high GPA. I realize the importance of education above all else, regardless of success on the track.
I want to attend a college where I can continue to push myself in the classroom and on the track. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. I want to become a role model to all my peers and teammates and make my parents proud.
Thank you for your interest and consideration.
