When I was 11 I qualified for the Live Healthy Iowa State Meet and got first place in the 400M and 200M. Thats when I learned how much I loved the sport and the thrill of competing.
I am dedicated and I have fallen in love with the process of getting faster. Even throughout quarantine I kept my hopes up for a sophomore track season and continued to train despite knowing it probably wasn't going to happen. Now I'm a junior with only one high school track season including qualifying for the Drake Relays and state under my belt.
I love track and it has truly shaped me into who I am. I received the MVP award and the Rookie of the Year award as a freshman. This was an honor especially after being on an incredible track team filled with amazing teammates. Another factor that is important to me is the positive atmosphere of a team, which is also something I am dedicated to contributing to.
Furthering my education and athletics is important to me. I want to become the best version of myself and I am excited to do so through exposure to a college environment.
