Hello, my name is Sofia DiVincenti. I am a Senior in high school at St. Martin's Episcopal School in Metairie, Louisiana. I have been playing sports since I was 3 years old. For the majority of my life, I have played Volleyball, Softball and Basketball. In my 7th grade year, I picked up the javelin for the first time and found a new love. In my 7th grade year, I went on to compete in the Varsity State Meet at LSU. Since then, I have been back to the State Meet every year. On my softball team, I pitch, play 1st base and 3rd base. I believe I would be a good candidate for any collegiate team because I am confident, driven, and motivated. I believe I can do anything I put my mind to. I love to compete and do not stress under high pressure situations.
I would like to pursue my dream of working with individuals with special needs. I have over 300 service hours, most of which are working with children with autism, down syndrome and other physical and mental challenges. Being able to be empathetic, patient and engaged with these individuals is extremely rewarding to me. Seeing them smile and enjoy life, despite their differences, makes it all worthwhile. These individuals have taught me perseverance and determination and I have been able to apply that to my every day life. You are not always dealt the perfect hand, but you can always strive to be the best you.
I would like to compete on a collegiate track team and be able to throw javelin. I would like to compete for a coach that can see my full potential as a student-athlete and be part of a team that would be a good fit for me. I am open to a big or small school and would prefer a college in the South but am definitely open to all areas. Please browse my profile and let me know if you have any questions. I appreciate you for taking the time to learn a little about me.
