Jamia Laird '16 Recruiting Profile

Welcome to my profile. I must say that this is my first 'official' year pole vaulting, and already my heart is dedicated to it. This dedication has driven me to develop an amazing work ethic. I will push myself to the limit on and off of the track just to excel in the Pole Vault. I am not your average pole vaulter. I am the only female pole vaulter at my school, and without a specified pole vaulting coach, I really don't have the type of training that other schools have. However, i will not let that act as a hindrance or an excuse, and i do believe that is what separates me from your average athlete. Aside from working hard on the track, i also work hard in the classroom. I currently have a 4.0 GPA average, and i am looking to increase that. If you would take me into consideration, i would be more than thankful, and i can assure you that you're not making a mistake.
