Until 2013 I was training as a level 10 gymnast. As of March 2014 I began pole vaulting and within our 3 month track season I broke the school record with a state jump of 12'0" (3rd place), earning a place on the Nevada Pole Vault Division I- 2nd team, and was given the Girls Outstanding Field Award for Reno High School. Looking at my record it shows that on April 5, 2014 I competed in my first meet and achieved a height of 9'6". By May 24, 2014 I was at 12'0". I recently competed at the Pacific Association Junior Olympics on June 22 in Livermore, CA and placed 2nd in the 17-18 age group with a height of 12'0" and 3rd at the JO Region 14 meet in Hanford, CA. * With my gymnastic background I have yet to reach my maximum height. Each meet brought a new PR for me and a new goal to reach for. This summer I am training every day and on August 1 I competed at AAU Junior Olympic Nationals where I placed 7th as an All-American.

With track I am part of a team. The family that is built with your team is such an important aspect of what I want in college life. I look forward to pole vaulting in college not only to be a part of that family, but to set and achieve personal goals I have for myself. These goals include involvement in the school community and giving back to the school through athletics and academics. Community and athletics are a huge part of what has shaped me and helped me build my character. They will also continue to help me build the connections to my future college. I have maintained a 3.9 GPA (unweighted) and am a member of the Sage Chapter National Honor Society. I am committed to excellence in both academics and athletics. I learned very early on how to balance schooling and a demanding practice schedule, and through it all I have maintained my academic goals.
