My collegiate goal is to combine the experience of collegiate athletic competition with a course of study that educates me on performance and exercise recovery so that I may assist in training the next generation of athletes to compete safely at the highest levels. I think that I would be a good candidate for your team because every day, I try and push myself harder so I can help my team grow more. Me and my team are a very close pack, we all stick together and push each other harder to make each of us a better runner. One thing that makes me different from other recruits in terms of athletics is that since I was in 6th grade, I was diagnosed with exercise-induced asthma. It was a very hard time for me because I had to learn a whole new way of how to breathe. I wasn't sure if I knew I really wanted to keep going with running but I kept pushing and training my lungs hard every day. After going to many doctors and training my breathing, I have been able to get myself away from using my inhaler for runs. I don't think I have reached my full potential yet, but I do believe that I have much room for improvement. Finally, in terms of academics, I have never really been the smartest person in the classroom. Instead, I relied on asking my teacher many questions and studying for hours to remember the material. In elementary school, I used to have to take extra classes in English in order to keep up with my grade level, but now I am in AP English with an A.
