Klara Lyon '15 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Klara Lyon and I am just starting my junior year in high school. Starting from when I was little, up to the summer of 8th grade year, I was involved in gymnastics. I started to pole vault when I was in the 7th grade and have been working at it ever since. The beginning of my sophomore year, I started to compete and do side- line cheer. All of the sports that I have been involved in have helped with my pole vaulting and many other aspects of my life. I began to pole vault because I was influenced by my brother pole vaulting. It started out as just participating in a practice, but as I kept going, it turned into much more than just participating. I began to create goals for myself and work towards those goals. As I kept meeting my goals, I continued to progress those goals into higher ones. These goals have kept me going and have given me motivation to become the best pole vaulter that I can be. The goals that I have set for myself are:to jump at least 12' 6" in high school and to proceed to vault in college as well. I believe that pole vaulting has shaped me into a more motivated and progressive person. Pole vaulting became more than a sport to me and I have met some amazing people that have motivated and pushed me to become better.
