Personal Statement
My name is Aubrey Lane, and I am a rising senior at Grace Christian Academy in Franklin, TN. I have always been a very driven person, not only on the track, but in the classroom as well. I have been taught by my hard-working parents that you have to put in the time and effort to achieve your goals.
I started running track in 8th grade, in hopes of only staying in shape for soccer, but I fell deeply in love with the sport. I was asked to join the high school track team post middle school season. I placed 6th in the 400m at the state track meet that year. Unfortunately, we lost our track season during my freshman year due to Covid. Since then, I began training for multi events. During my sophomore year, I placed 1st in the Great Eight Invitational (best eight high school athletes from Middle Tennessee in each event) in the 800m with a time of 2:17.38. I ended the season at the TSSAA State meet with 1st place in the 800m and rank 5th overall in the state of Tennessee. I placed 2nd in high jump, 1st place in the 4x4 relay, 2nd place in the 4x2 relay and 1st place in the state pentathlon. Track has taught me patience and perseverance through many hard practices and meets.
In regards to academics, I currently have a 4.14 GPA, which I plan on maintaining throughout the rest of my high school and college career. I'm interested in pursuing a career in law, however, I am still somewhat undecided on my undergraduate major. It is my dream and biggest life goal to be a multi athlete on a collegiate track team. I am confident that I will obtain this goal given my competitive, determined demeanor as well as my work ethic.
