I am a pole vaulter at St. Agnes Academy in Memphis, TN. I discovered my love for pole vault in 8th grade after competing in gymnastics for five years. I jump year-round with Jason Vogt at Memphis Vault Club, and my personal record is 12ft 8.5in. The feeling of driving all my power into the pole, soaring over the bar, and falling gracefully to the pit below is the best feeling in the world. I enjoy putting everything I have into attacking the next bar. In addition, one of the most valuable skills I have learned is how to support my teammates when we are struggling together. I am excited to take these skills to the next level and compete as a college athlete.
My dedication to my studies is as strong as my dedication to my sport. To prepare for college, I am taking a variety of AP and honors classes. I was selected for the Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society, English Honor Society, and Beta Club, where I serve as Treasurer. I was also voted by my classmates to be the Junior Class President. I am seeking a broad based college education with a focus in architecture.
At the college level, I aspire to be a strong student athlete. I have learned leadership, discipline, and drive from balancing school and sports. I hope to attend an academically challenging university that will prepare me for a career in architecture and allow me to jump to new heights on the field. I am ready to contribute to my team and represent my school well.
