Track and field has always been a big sport in my family. I was born in El Salvador and moved to the U.S. about 5 years ago with my parents. My mom was the big track star, the one everyone knew. My dad, on the other hand, was a thrower, a javelin thrower and they were both national champions. When I was little, he used to tell me all these stories about his competitions. I never gave it a thought that I would be doing the same things as he did.
I started throwing about a year ago and I'm hoping to one day be the next big name. I love throwing and it's been a legacy passed on to me. I want to show the world what I can do, not only on a runway, but in a classroom as well.
Excelling in academics is one of the biggest goals I have set for myself. Being the best in a classroom may not be easy, but I try my hardest to achieve that goal. I am a straight A student and as an incoming freshman I'd like to keep it that way.
Another big goal I'd like to achieve is one day being an Olympic and World champion. I'm a girl that's very gold driven and ambitious. I'm working very hard and will keep working hard until I've met my expectations and goals.
