Clara Thomas '22 Recruiting Profile

As long as I can remember track has been my passion and ever since I jumped my first hurdle, I haven't been able to stop.  Being unable to compete in my sophomore season of track was heartbreaking, but it fueled my determination and ultimately lead me to victory in my junior season. This success was due to all of the extra training I put in when it would have been far easier to slack off. I am willing to go the extra mile, do the harder workout, and push my self to the limits every time I step on that track because I will always push myself to  be the best I can be and achieve what I know I'm capable of accomplishing. 

I model this work ethic in the classroom as well challenging myself with rigorous academics and maintaining a high GPA as well as being involved in other clubs. The leadership I learn off the track I apply during practice by leading warm ups, helping coach the others, and by being an encouraging teammate.

My goal is always to do my best, and that may look different every year, but the biggest goals I have are to break  50 seconds in a 300 meter hurdle race and to continue racing  track in college.
