Personal Statement
I started playing volleyball in seventh grade with Volleyball Club Dinamo in Tucson, Arizona. My club team has recently won the Arizona Qualifier, made an appearance at the Girl's Junior Nationals in the National Division (2014), and the year before that we placed third at the Girl's Junior Nationals in the Patriot Division. At my high school, I have started on varsity since my sophomore year. I have gotten multiple awards and mentions throughout my high school career, and this year I am leading my team on and off the court and serving as team captain.
Academically, I know that I will succeed at any university I attend. I have always been focused on academics, and I'm a hardworking and diligent student. I understand that balancing collegiate sports and academics is a hard task, and I feel prepared to exceed as a student-athlete. I am attending college to get an education; having the opportunity to play on a collegiate volleyball team is just a bonus.
Something that distinguishes me from other potential players (besides my academic success) is my athleticism, coachability, and personality. I am a three-sport varsity athlete, and outside of volleyball I participate in varsity basketball and tennis. I have been lucky enough to have the ability to pick up almost any sport and skill, which I believe makes me an all-around better athlete. Having played so many sports for so many years, I've interacted with my fair share of coaches. I have had a great relationship with very single one of my coaches, and still maintain a good relationship with former coaches. I am very personable, and I can find a way to work well with everyone, coaches, teammates, and parents alike. I believe that I am a great person to have on your team because of my dedication to the sport, my good attitude and personality, and my athletic success.
