Ava Larkin '23 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing volleyball since I was ten years old and the second I started, I didn't want to stop. Volleyball lights a fire in me and pushes me to keep getting better.  Everyday I am working so I might have the opportunity to play in college, an opportunity that few have the chance to do. 

I am a smart player with a great grasp of the game and a willingness to continue to learn.  I am quick on the court and strategic in my approach to make my teammates better and succeed.  As a left handed setter, I take advantage of opportunities to attack and to confuse the other teams with my serve.  As a captain on my team I lead by example and try to be a calming presence on the court in critical moments. 

In the classroom, I am top student and work hard to ensure my GPA is strong. I take advanced classes and currently take Alegbra 2 as an 8th grader.  Recently, I participated in the Fiesta Bowl Honeywell Aerospace Challenge where I helped my team make it to finals. Ultimately, I want to become an  I volunteer my time tutoring other students and participating in service events in my community.

I am looking for a college that will push me both on and off the court.  With a father and grandfather who both played a collegiate sport (golf and basketball) I understand the commitment and the fit that must be in place to drive success for the school and myself.  I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible.
