Personal Statement
Volleyball grabbed my attention at a very young age. I started off watching my aunt play college volleyball, and my mom playing adult rec league volleyball and it wasn't long before I was counting down the days to play myself. I have grown up with volleyball so much, I feel it is a part of who I am. I have had teammates that have turned into family, leadership skills that I have learned, confidence gained, and opportunities to go, see, and experience all kinds of new places; volleyball has always had a strong hold on my heart.
I have always been an athlete. I have played basketball, softball, golf, and volleyball for as far back as I can remember. Volleyball, however, has always been my favorite. I am who I am today because of my background as an athlete, but my passion for the game of volleyball is something I am not willing to let go of, and the reason that I am pursuing opportunities to play in college. I believe I not only have the skill to compete at the collegiate level, but I also have the work ethic, leadership skills, the drive and the passion to play. I love opportunities to be coached and to better myself at the game.
I am looking for a program that will help my achieve my dream of playing at the collegiate level, while also fulfilling my academic goals. I see myself working in a sports management position in the future, and this is something I want to work toward academically. I have always been intrigued by what all goes on behind the scenes of great sports programs, both at the college level and the professional level, and I feel this type of position would be a good fit for me because of my passion for all things sports related.
I know I would be a great asset to the right team, and I look forward to exploring my options and finding which team is the best fit for me. Thanks for considering me for your program!
