Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Rylee Odell and I am a Junior at Shiloh Christian School. I am starting my fourth year of club at Ozark Juniors in Fayetteville, Arkansas. I have been playing middle blocker for Ozark Juniors since I was 14. I have played in many large tournaments and two national tournaments. As a sophomore I earned the starting role of right-side hitter on my high schools varsity squad. Since I had always played middle for my club and junior high teams, I had never played right side before but when my coach asked me to fill the role, I rose to the occasion. As of Junior year I earned the starting outside hitter position, I lead my team and conference in kills. I ended the season with number one selection all-conference team, NWADG player of the week, and an all-state title.
I have been around sports my whole life and I started playing volleyball in the fourth grade for our local youth center. I approach the game of volleyball the same way I approach life and academics, with passion and pursuit of perfection. I believe that everything you do should be given 110% of your time and effort.
I look forward to my college education and plan to study education and coaching or athletic training. Growing up in an athletic family and playing sports year round, I can not imagine my life without it. Being an athlete I can see myself coaching or helping other athletes through their injuries, as my coaches and trainers have helped me.
