Personal Statement
I've grown up loving all competitive sports! Playing softball, soccer, and swim, from a really young age and enjoying many others from the sidelines, I have found a special spot for volleyball in my heart. At nine years old, I was invited to my cousins high school summer volleyball clinic. I left that clinic with a passionate calling for playing volleyball and still continue with that strong passion to play 7 years later.
Since I have been playing volleyball I have learned so much about myself and the kind of person I want to become. Being able to connect a the team is crucial, especially with such a competitive sport. While volleyball is extremely competitive, I have learned that having fun, being dedicated, and good leadership will help the team succeed! I have always been a natural leader. I am always the loudest on the court and on the sidelines; constantly cheering on my team and talking about game plan in huddles and off the court. I know how to have fun and keep myself and team focused.
It is very important to me to help others in our community and showing kindness to those in need. I am currently a part of CCC (Childhood Cancer Club) at my high school where we bring awareness to childhood cancer and strive to be a light for the children at Miller Children's Hospital. Previously I've been a part of a group called Lunch Buddies where I had lunch with the special needs kids at my school. I have also assisted amazing special needs young adults at my local special needs volleyball clinics. If I can go out of my way to make someones day by showing them kindness, being a friend, or just to make them laugh a little, I will do just that.
I am currently a Junior in high school and maintaining a high GPA is extremely important to me because my dream is to play on a college volleyball team. My academic and volleyball goals are to work hard and achieve success for my team and myself.
I am looking forward to my future and all of the amazing opportunities that I can create for myself, my team, and my community!
