Hi Coaches,
Thank you for taking the time to view my profile. I am looking to play volleyball in college while earning a nursing degree. I started playing volleyball when I was in the third grade with the YMCA and throughout the years I wanted to compete at a more competitive level which led me to join club volleyball. Due to my character, work ethic, and leadership skills I played an age higher for four years. In those four years we became a cohesive and successful team. This year I chose to step away from the 18 National Team to play with my age group, the 17 National Team, because I was given the opportunity to play the Libero position full time. This choice was not an easy one, having played with the same teammates for four years and having a lot of success and growth, leaving was a scary thought. Ultimately my goal of learning the Libero position to the best of my ability and being a key player in building a successful 17's team out weighted my desire to win. I am happy with the decision I made to play on the 17's team because I am facing new challenges and finding new strengths while being able to play the sport that I have fallen in love with.
At a young age I was diagnosed with a learning disability and placed onto an IEP (Individual Educational Plan). I spent my summers tutoring to catch up with my peers and tested out of the IEP my 10th grade year of high school and currently hold a 3.9 GPA. I was able to do this by putting in the extra work and wanting to get better, this mind set also follows me when I step onto the court.
