Makayla Urquhart '16 Recruiting Profile

If volleyball was huge here in Connecticut starting at a young age I would have started a young as I could. Volleyball is my life and I am willing to give my all into the sport. Right now I play for Valley Regional Highschool in DeepRiver, CT and for CT Volleyball Academy

On the court, I am a very quick, aggressive, and energetic player. I will bring my skill to the court and make sure that I do my job for my team as a Libero. One of my strongest points is passing and back row attacking. I hold a strong, and known as the best platform on my team. I love being able to dig a hard driven hit and feel good afterwards. I help bring up my teammates energy and I make sure that we are all focused. I try my best to be the best passer on the court during my games.

Playing at the high school level was the best decision I had ever made. I have come a far way from playing at the intramural level in middle school; when I first started. There was competition and that wasn't enough for me. I always wished that I started at a young age but rarely around here in Connecticut do they take kids under the age of 11 maybe.

My biggest accomplishment was earning the libero jersey on varsity my sophomore year. I wanted it so badly and everyday I went to practice determined. I also got most improved player of the year and I couldn't have been happier. Now going into junior year I am ready to take that jersey again and get 10x more digs, aces, and attacks. Also achieve many more accomplishments that are out there waiting for me. From here on out I wanna be known across the shoreline for the hard work I put out on the court.

 In school I work hard and focus on my studies. As a sophomore I am already determined to major in physical therapy or some type of nursing. I plan on working hard to come out with a doctorate when i finish with my college career.

With my sports career I am aiming to play volleyball all my years of college that i am eligable for. I am determined to be recruited onto a team and I am willing to do anything and work hard to reach my goals. Volleyball is a sport that I can't stop playing and I love it so much that I want to expand in it. I am aiming to play at the highest level, and not to settle for anything less the division 3. 

Volleyball is something I love and I want to take it to the next level, and it feels right.
