I have played volleyball at my high school since freshman year and I began playing at the varsity level in my sophomore year. Competitive volleyball for me provides the balance and structure in my life that has helped me to excel in the sport as well as academics. I want to make my college experience one in which I will have achieved my goal of becoming a special education teacher, as well as achieving my athletic goal of playing college volleyball. The physical nature of volleyball allows me to express my competitive energy in a positive and constructive way. I am anxious to continue my volleyball career at the college level, and I am driven to learn, win, and be successful. I am prepared to do whatever my coaches ask me to do in order to help the team. During my Junior year in high school, my coach asked me to switch from an outside hitter to a middle because the team needed a starter at that position. I willingly agreed to learn the position and I have started and excelled at that position since. This success came through putting the team's needs first. I am equally driven to be a good teammate and to strive for team success. I believe that winning teams are comprised of players with ability, discipline and character. I always strive to be a player with those attributes, and I believe I can make a positive impact on your program and contribute toward your team's success.
