Personal Statement

My name is Lily Simons, I am a competitive athlete, and I excel under pressure. I'm a junior and captain on my high school varsity volleyball team at Amity High School in Woodbridge, Connecticut class of '26. I'm excited about the opportunity to continue my volleyball career at a competitive college program. As a multi-sport athlete, I've developed my skills in volleyball, golf, and basketball. Playing at the varsity level in high school for all three sports has helped my athletic and mental competitive game in so many ways. However, volleyball is my true passion, and I love the game. I've been fortunate to be on my high school varsity team since my freshman year, and I'm eager to take my game to the next level. I'm grateful for my family's support, especially my father, a former NCAA college football player. His mentorship has shaped my athletic journey and instilled in me a strong work ethic and competitive drive. I also share a love for football and was on the Pop Warner and flag football teams as their running back and quarterback for years.

I'm dedicated to improving my volleyball skills and am committed to putting in the hard work required to excel at the collegiate level. I'm eager to bring my positive attitude, strong work ethic, and leadership skills to a team that shares my passion for the sport.

I believe my strong work ethic, competitive drive, and passion for the game make me a valuable asset to any team. I'm looking for a college program that offers a challenging academic environment and a supportive team culture. I'm excited to contribute to a program that values hard work, teamwork, and a love for the sport.

I'm lucky to call this a volunteering job recording all the action and providing great coverage for my school.
