Personal Statement
Attending college is the path for me to move forward towards my life goals. My overall collegiate goal is to find a program that fits my goal of a obtaining a degree in Chemistry that will provide me with multiple career opportunities. I believe that being a member of a collegiate level volleyball team will continue to reinforce my work ethic and help me to obtain the goals I wish to achieve. When not on the volleyball court I want to be working hard to better myself at the sport and to make a valuable contribution to the team. I am confident that I will contribute to all teams or groups I am a member of by being coachable and striving to master the skills needed to be successful.
I am different from any other recruit that coaches have seen because of my involvement and commitment at a high level in many areas. During my Freshman and Sophomore year I was a student at Harrison School for the Arts in the Chorus department, played volleyball for Lakeland Senior High school, and played on a competitive club team. In addition to volleyball, I attend private singing lessons, and most importantly I am a student first. For my Junior and Senior year, I am attending Polk State College Lakeland Collegiate High School working towards obtaining my Associates of Arts degree before I graduate from high school. I play high school volleyball at Lake Gibson Senior High School and continue to play on my current competitive volleyball team. Over the years I have developed balance with a very heavy academic and extracurricular schedule and have created a plan to excel at the highest level in both. This balance in multiple activities in the same day, from preparing for a test, attending different chorus rehearsals to attending volleyball practice makes be a valuable recruit. These life experiences have gotten me prepared and confident that I can be successful and a valuable contribution to a team at the next level.
