Personal Statement
I have been playing volleyball since I was eight years old. I fell in love with the game the minute I put on my first kneepads in 2nd grade. Since then, my dream to play college volleyball has grown throughout the years and I understand the grit, determination and work it takes to succeed. I have participated on school teams, club teams, in group conditioning, personal strength training and a multitude of college camps and private lessons in order to reach this lofty goal.
I am athletic and quick on the court and have a great sense for where the ball is and where it's going. I have grown to be a leader on and off the court, setting a positive example for the rest of my teammates. I have also learned to take the game point by point, to remain confident and to offer positive motivation to my peers. I am very coachable and desire specific feedback to improve my skills. My coaches and teammates would describe me as a very hard worker, giving my all to each and every practice, workout and game.
Academically, I have pushed myself with challenging AP and Honors courses so that I can begin college as prepared as possible. I am on track to reach the highest level of Florida's Bright Futures Scholarship as well as graduating with my Science Lab Coat and Merit Honors Award. I currently have a 4.2 GPA, and I anticipate improving on that by a few points. I am very interested in Chemistry, Architecture and Interior Design. I enjoy being involved in Key Club, National Honors Society and volunteering to help grow the sport with youngsters in my community.
My goal is to attend a college where I can challenge myself academically and athletically. I am open to ALL options and want to ultimately find the school that will enrich my life while allowing me to bring an immediate and positive impact to the volleyball program.
