Maryetta Norton '21 Recruiting Profile

When I went to volleyball try outs in 2015 I had no idea what the sport even was, but as soon as they put me on the court I could feel it! The passion rushing over me! I knew this would become more than a sport to me! And it has! I’ve been playing since 7th grade, and only my 2nd year i was made co-captain of my team.  Volleyball is my stress release, my passion, and the thing I’ll miss most after graduating from high school may 2021.it breaks my heart to even think of never stepping on the court again! 

I know no matter how good I get, I can ALWAYS improve, I will NEVER give up.      

Any time I mess up I push myself and remind my self,

I CAN do better than that, I WANT to do better than that, and I WILL do better than that! 

I am a faithful christian and put God first! He has shown me a whole other purpose in playing Volleyball, which is bringing him Glory through it! He gave me this ability! 

I want to teach kindergarten-third grade, and I want to be that teacher who is always there when you need her, and really forms a relationshp with her students! My students will know they have a name and are not just a number.

God gave me this gift and i wish to use it as He would have me use it!

I really prioritize my relationship with my coach and team! I want a team and coach i can get to know on a level of friendship and respect!

Teamwork, I see as a #1 rule, in order to succeed!! 

I hope you look into me. I’m not a perfect player, but no one is! I put my ALL into this game and I won’t let you down!
