Personal Statement
My name is Ramsey Chambers and I play for TK Volleyball Club as an Outside Hitter/Opposite. I was just named TK Volleyball Player of the Year for the 18's. I attend Hebron Christian Academy in Dacula, Georgia as part of the graduating class of 2022 and play on their Varsity team. Our Hebron team played in back to back State Championships, winning 1st place in 2019 and achieving 2nd place this year 2020. I aspire to play in college and I feel like I would excel at the collegiate level because of my leadership skills, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn. To be honest, I have never been the "headline" player, but my coaches have always expressed I am their "go to" player and an anchor for the team. I was flattered to make the paper a few times last season. My coaches find that I am dependable, calm under pressure, and needed to win as I am good at defense, good passing skills and can be aggressive at the net. My work ethic, dedication, and encouragement to my teammates cannot be beaten. I have always been the single-player that the coach depended on to pull us ahead with my consistent serves if we became behind. I have played on Hebron's Varsity Volleyball team since my freshman year and that was such an amazing experience being able to learn from the older girls. Now, becoming an upperclassman myself, I am excited to reciprocate the same compassion and acceptance the prior upperclassmen showed me. Even though I am very competitive and love to win I am able to take a loss and learn from it. Failure is part of the game and I believe it is important to learn from the failure and use it to become a better person and athlete. I would like to go to a college and play for a coach that shares that kind of mentality and becomes a positive mentor in my life.
