Gabrielle Williams '25 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Gabrielle, but everyone calls me Gabby. 

My passion for volleyball began when I saw my first collegiate level volleyball game. After watching the game, I knew that I wanted to play the sport and be awesome at it. Soon after I started my training going to clinics and classes at various clubs, and later that year I started recreational volleyball and played 3 seasons. Once the season was over, I wanted to train somewhere that would push me to work hard towards getting better and better every day, so we choose Atlanta Performance Volleyball. I started playing more and more, and I grew more in love playing as a Middle Blocker with them every season. During my final year playing Rec ball, we won the 2021 GRPA Volleyball Championship.

I also played Middle school volleyball where i was the team captain and I am currently playing at Langston Hughes High school as a Middle and Outside hitter on the varsity team for two seasons. 

Looking back now makes me realize how much my teammates have brought me out of my shell. I was very shy and reserved growing up but now I feel more confident and open to communicating on and off the court. I really think that encouraging your teammates is important because every player knows what it’s like when people on your team aren’t uplifting you in a time of need.

My goal is to play volleyball at a collegiate level and become an orthodontist. 

The journey I picked would be filled with criticism and hard work, but I am open to the challenge.
