I have been active in the sport of volleyball since age 4 and am currently a sophomore at Waiakea High School in Hilo, Hawaii. My love and fascination with the game has underpinned my progression from the participant ranks of municipal P&R volleyball programs on the Big Island of Hawaii, to earning my current roster spot as a libero on Maunalani Nike VBC 18s Girls Team on Oahu. I aspire to play intercollegiate volleyball, earn a higher education degree and eventually complete post graduate studies before settling into a career as a historian or behavioral scientist. Playing volleyball in college would represent an incredible opportunity and privilege.
I believe my primary strengths are my all around game and high volleyball IQ. My approach is to lead by example, while also striving to be the best teammate by working to make my teammates better.
Academically, I am diligently applying myself to stretch as a student and expand my horizons to meet the challenges and demands of college prep coursework. At present, I have a cumulative GPA of 3.857. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy playing the piano and making time to work on service projects as a member of my high school's Key Club chapter.
It is my ultimate desire to become part of a collegiate athletic program at an academic institution that supports and encourages my growth, maturity and evolution as an athlete, student and person. I am committed to making this dream into realty, and am open to the consideration of all options and possibilities.
