Makena Hanle '19 Recruiting Profile

My collegiate goal is to go to a D1, D2 or D3 school to play volleyball. I want to go to a school that will benefit me as a player and a student, no matter what my education comes first. One thing that makes me a great candidate for your team is that I am a hard worker, I never give up on a play, I thrive to be my best. I am also a great leader on and off the court, I aspire myself to become a better individual for the team and coaches. Even though I am a Libero and only play in the back row, I will be ready to play any position you put me in from hitting to setting. In my high school career I have played outside hitter my last two years and have been very successful on getting the job done. As a player, it is important to be coachable and disciplined, which is what makes me a great player. I am a good listener and will get the job done no matter what,  from sacrificing my body to get every ball up to changing my way of play to benefit the team. Although volleyball can take up a lot of time, I always get my schoolwork done since I am a student before an athlete. In the classroom I put quality before quantity and give it my 100%. I am very responsible by turning in my work on the due date and keep my homework and projects organized. Even if I'm not the smartest in my class, I try herd and do my best to get good grades and produce good work. I believe I can achieve m goals by being myself and to not let anyone tell me who I can or can't be.
