Personal Statement
My name is Lydia Hubbard and I am a right side/outside hitter at Maroa-Forsyth High School. I have played volleyball for 7 years, and fall in love with the sport every time I step onto the court. My dad has a passion for volleyball that he handed down to me at an early age. He taught me the game and I have become a better person playing it by learning teamwork, communication, and leadership skills. I set myself apart from others by being both coachable and versatile. I am willing to play wherever I am needed and am always open to expanding my skills in different positions other than middle. I give 100% effort anyway I can for myself and my team!
Off the court, I’m involved in various youth philanthropist and leadership groups. My proudest moments have been in helping others and I volunteer in my community whenever I can.
I am looking for a college where I can better myself as a volleyball player and as a student. I am an AP student who loves to learn and have earned a 4.9/5.0 GPA. I have been on the high honor roll every semester and am working to graduate at the top of my class in 2020. I hope to continue my high academic achievement studying science at the collegiate level. I am open to all NCAA divisions as well as NAIA.
In the year 2020 I will not only end my high school career, but also begin a new chapter in my life. I am looking forward to continuing my education and love for competition at the collegiate level.
