My name is Emma Pinkston. I am a three year varsity starter for my high school team as well as a captain. I have been playing competitive volleyball since I was 7 years old. Ever since I was little I have wanted to play volleyball at the collegiate level. I know this is possible because I do whatever it takes to accomplish my goals. In college, I plan to study Athletic Training. I have been inspired to be an athletic trainer by the amazing trainers we have had at my high school. What they do is great, and the relationships they have with all the athletes is something I would want to have. I realize studying will be difficult with volleyball, but I am ready to do whatever it takes.
I believe I am a good candidate to play college volleyball because my strongest asset on the court is my ability to read the ball quickly and efficiently. I think I have an advantage with this because I have played every position on the volleyball court, so I know the different ways the ball may be played by the opponent. I am also a smart player. Since I am not the tallest, I have learned how to place the ball in order to get a kill without hitting it hard every single time.
I am a very hard worker on the court and in the classroom. I love to be challenged, which is why I would love to play college volleyball, because I know it will not be easy. I am always prepared to learn and better myself in any way I can.
