Personal Statement
My name is Emma Pinkston. I am a three year varsity starter for my high school team as well as a captain. I have been playing travel volleyball since I was 7 years old. Ever since I was little I have wanted to play volleyball at the collegiate level. I know this is possible because I do whatever it takes to accomplish my goals. In college, I plan to study exercise science in hopes of becoming a physical therapist. I realize studying will be difficult with volleyball, but I am ready to do whatever it takes.
I believe I am a good candidate to play college volleyball because my strongest asset on the court is my ability to read the ball quickly and efficiently. I think I have an advantage with this because I have played every position on the volleyball court, so I know the different ways the ball may be played by the opponent. I am also a smart player. Since I am not the tallest, I have learned how to place the ball in order to get a kill without hitting it hard every single time.
I am a very hard worker on the court and in the classroom. I love to be challenged, which is why I would love to play college volleyball, because I know it will not be easy. I am always prepared to learn and better myself in any way I can.
