2020 Highlights That first time I went up for a swing in 7th grade and got to experience the thrill of a kill, I instantly knew that the front row was my home. I joined club-ball after my 7th grade school year and learned to develop my middle blocker skills. I became the starting middle blocker that season and my skill level only improved. During my 8th grade school season, I faced a knee injury that knocked me back mentally and physically. I recovered quick and obtained the confidence to find a coach for private lessons before the next club season tryouts. I quickly gained my mental and physical skills of the game and again, became the starting middle that club season. I starting to enjoy hitting off of the opposite side and played that position during most of my freshman school season.
I have learned that being the best player on the court physically is not the only way to win the game. You need to develop your mental skill level and cannot become discouraged. Although I ran into something that challenged me in both ways, I would like to say that I have learned more about the game after facing this injury. Academically speaking, I plan to upkeep an A Honor Roll throughout High School and into College. My many club and school team coaches have prepared me in every way possible to become a teammate on your future team!
