Personal Statement

Being a student athlete has brought me to great places in life so far, it pushes me to be the best person I can be and also allows me to be meet new friends. My goal sense I was young is to go to a good college to get a good education while also playing at a higher and more advanced level in volleyball. I could definitely say that volleyball is a big part of my life and brings me to much joy and pleasure to play the sport.  Starting at 8 years old I began playing the sport. I have played in many tournaments and games all around Indiana and it has shown me that volleyball is definitely not easy but with hard work and dedication it becomes so much more. I consider myself a very competitive and a go getter person. Every challenge I face I use it as a opportunity to get better. Overall, I think that my hard work in the gym and in the classroom will help me build up my opportunity to play to the next level.

Training

  • Personal Training Lessons with formal IU Volleyball Player
  • 1 year
  • I am currently getting trained by Max Dunn. Personal training on jumping, approach for outside hitting, and serving consistently. I not only work on volleyball game like skills but also exercise my body as much as I can get to get stronger. I train every week and I feel like I improve every day.
  • Indiana University Volleyball Training
  • 3 years
  • I enjoy working with the Indiana volleyball staff on improving my volleyball skills. I have went for hitting, serving, and defensive skills. I really look forward to getting an idea on what college players do to better themselves, its always a cool experience and I get lots from it.
  • Illinois Volleyball Camp
  • 1 year
  • I went to this camp with my school team ( North Daviess Varsity Team) . This camp focus's on all around volleyball skills. I got the opportunity to work with college players and get good advice from the coaches while also getting lots of playing time with my team. This camp definitely helped me improve in all areas of the sport while also getting more team bond time.
  • Advanced Weights
  • 2 years
  • Weights is a big part of my daily routine. I lift weights at school in the mornings. Then, I lift more at the end of school before track and volleyball practice. I spend a lot of my extra time doing workouts and lifting weights, I find it helpful when it comes to bettering myself in sports.
  • At Home Workouts ( Covid)
  • 1 year
  • I am working on doing workouts at home to better myself when it comes to strength. It consist of jumping rope, push ups, squats, and lifting weights. I do this two times a day in the morning and in the evening. I am gaining a lot from it.
  • SJ Volleyball Club Team
  • 1 year
  • This club was actually a community league, which I know doesn't sound that competitive. However, the cool part about it is that I get to play with teammates on my season volleyball team but also play with boys who turn out to be really good and push me to play competitively.
